Live in a Swallows Nest!

John McKeown who runs Look Around Ireland, the Online Guide to Ireland has set up a webcam on a swallows nest in his old garden shed. He is hoping that it will record the hatching of the chicks and feeding etc over the next few weeks.

Learn about GIANTS in Ireland

There is a "Giant Hunting" Workshops taking place at Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre tomorrow, Saturday, July 4th at 11.30am and 1.30pm. The event is free of charge and is suitable for 8 to 12 year olds. Here are some details:

Donovan Days in Cavan

For one glorious weekend, from July 9–12, sunshine will come softly through the windows of Cavan County Museum and the Ramor Theatre, in the form of a weekend tribute festival to Sunshine Superman, Donovan. Cavan County Council Arts Office will present Donovan Days, a three day celebration of the art, music, poetry and life of legendary songwriter and recording artist Donovan - with the king of Mellow Yellow, Donovan, and his wife and muse, Linda Lawrence, as guests of honour at the event.

Unique horse and greyhound racing event

On Sunday 12th July Dundalk Stadium will host a 7 race horse card commencing at approximately 2.45pm followed by 12 greyhound races commencing at 7.45pm which includes one of the biggest events of the year, the BOYLESPORTS.COM Dundalk International 2009. This race is one of the richest one off events in the UK and Ireland with some of the top Irish and English greyhounds being invited to take part.

Afternoon Race Meeting: First Race: 2:45pm
Admission - Adults: €15
Senior Citizens/Students: €10
Children Under 14 'Race for Free'

Customers attending the afternoon race meeting are entitled to stay on for the Boylesports.com Dundalk International that evening at no additional charge. Pass out stamps are available at the turnstiles for customers wishing to leave the Stadium and be readmitted later in the evening.
